Good is better than perfect. So the ceramics of Petra Lindenbauer are always placed in a context, also because one actively includes them in daily life: Tableware is there to be used - you touch it, you feel the form, the clay, the glaze. But the integrative character also stands for the interaction with the material. Again and again she discovers how much personality is in it and how much momentum and stubbornness the clay has, if you just let it.
In the work of Petra Lindenbauer perfection has no relevance. What interests her is his will and the exhaustion of the material. She prefers to work well rather than perfectly, an object is beautiful for her if it has character. She prefers when the character of an object is not created by her, but with her: when she has an idea, but leaves the clay its will, and the ceramic is the result of this interaction. Working with clay is usually less about forming a vessel than about finding the right moment to let it go - to let it decide for itself what expression it will ultimately take on.
